The vital essence within the womb naturally divides and gathers into five places, which are called 埵, or called the five vesicles. The sūtra text written with the flesh radical as 腄 is incorrect. The standard form has the earth radical 土 with 垂 as phonetic; it is also written as 朵 or 垛, which are both ancient scripts and standard forms, not much used in modern times).
