所鑑（監陷反廣雅云鏡也賈注國語鑑察也杜注左傳亦戒也毛詩傳云鑑所以察形也說文云可以取明水於月也從金監聲或作鑒也）。

所鑑 (The *fanqie* is [k]- + [ɦam] (監陷反). The *Guangya* says: 'A mirror.' Jia's commentary on the *Guoyu* says: '鑑 means to examine or scrutinize.' Du [Yu]'s commentary on the *Zuo zhuan* also says: 'To take warning.' The *Mao shi zhuan* states: 'A mirror is that by which one examines appearances.' The *Shuowen jiezi* states: 'That by which bright water can be captured from the moon.' It is categorized under the radical 金 (metal) with 監 phonetic. It is also written as 鑒).
