穰草（上若章反廣雅秆謂之穰說文從禾襄聲經從草作蘘是蘘荷字也非經義也）。

穰草 (The *fanqie* for the upper character is [ȵ]- + [tɕɨɐŋ] (若章反). The *Guangya* states: 'Grain stalks are called 穰 [*ráng*].' The *Shuowen jiezi* states that it is categorized under the radical 禾 (grain) with 襄 phonetic. In the sūtra text it is written with the radical 艸 (grass) as 蘘, which is the character for wild ginger (蘘荷) and not the intended meaning of the sūtra).
