縆繩 (The *fanqie* for the upper character is [k]- + [ɦəŋ] (剛恒反). Wang Yi's commentary on the *Chuci* says: '縆 means suddenly stringing a bow.' The *Shuowen jiezi* states: 'A large cord or rope.' It is categorized under the radical 糸 (silk) with 恒 phonetic. The *fanqie* for the lower character is [ʑ]- + [ȵɨŋ] (食仍反). The *Guangya* says: 'A carpenter's marking-line is straight.' Kong's commentary on the *Shangshu* says: 'When timber follows the marking-line, it becomes straight.' The *Shuowen jiezi* states: 'Also a rope.' It is categorized under the radical 糸 (silk) with an abbreviated form of 蠅 as phonetic. The pronunciation of 蠅 is the *fanqie* [j]- + [tsəŋ] (翼繒反)).
