Reprimand and punish (謫罰: [謫] has the fanqie *zhu* [t-] + *ge* [-ɛk], [zhe]. Mao's Commentary on the Classic of Poetry says: "謫 means to reproach." The Fangyan says: "謫 means anger." Du's commentary on the Zuo zhuan says: "謫 means to rebuke." The Shuowen jiezi says: "Derived from 'speech' (言), with *di* (啇) phonetic").
