獯狁（上訓云反下音允考聲云匃奴別名也唐麌謂之獯鬻周謂之獫狁漢謂之[匈-凵+└]奴今謂之突厥皆北狄也）。

Xunyu (獯: *xùn-yún* fanqie; 狁: pronounced *yǔn*; the *Kaosheng* says: "Another name for the Xiongnu; during the time of Tang [Yao] and Yu [Shun] they were called the Xunyu; during the Zhou they were called the Xianyun; during the Han they were called the Xiongnu; nowadays they are called the Tujue (Turks); all are northern barbarians").
