潟鹵（上星弈反爾雅云潟苦也郭璞云苦地也古今正字從水舄聲志本作舄誤也下盧古反杜注左傳云鹵确口角薄之地也說文西方鹹地也從鹵省像鹽形也東方謂之㡿西方謂之鹵也）。

潟鹵 (The first character has the fanqie xing + yi. The Erya says: '潟 means bitter.' Guo Pu says: 'Bitter, saline land.' The Gujin zhengzi says: 'It takes 水 as semantic classifier and 舄 as phonetic.' The original text of the Fangzhi writes 舄, which is an error. The second character has the fanqie lu + gu. Du's commentary on the Zuo zhuan says: '鹵 refers to rocky, barren, thin land.' The Shuowen says: 'Saline land in the west. It is composed of a reduction of 鹵, depicting the shape of salt. In the east it is called 㡿; in the west it is called 鹵').
