支派 (pronounced pai-mai fan. Shuowen says: “Water flowing obliquely, dispersing and dividing. Derived from 水 and the reversed character 永; a pictographic character.” As for the branch-character [支], Shuowen says: “Derived from half a bamboo and 又,” which is correct).
