溉灌（上機未反顧野王云溉謂灌注也莊子云水潦之所灌於田也說文溉亦灌也從水既聲下官換反顧野王云灌猶沃澍也考聲云灌漬也注也說文從水雚聲也雚音同上）。

Irrigate and water (溉灌: the first character has the fanqie 機未 [jī + wèi -> jì]; Gu Yewang says: "*Gai* (溉) means to irrigate and pour." *Zhuangzi* says: "Where the floods irrigate the fields." The *Shuowen [jiezi]* states: "*Gai* also means to irrigate; it takes the 'water' radical with *ji* (既) phonetic." The second character has the fanqie 官換 [guān + huàn -> guàn]; Gu Yewang says: "*Guan* (灌) is like pouring and moistening." The *Kaosheng* says: "*Guan* means to soak; to pour." The *Shuowen* states: "It takes the 'water' radical with *guan* (雚) phonetic; *guan* has the same sound as above").
