[竺-二+淠]撥（上敗鞋反下煩韈反考聲云𥱼亦撥也案𥱼撥者縛竹木浮之水上也又云大桴也古今正字𥱼從水箄聲箄音必耳反撥海中大船也從木發聲經文作薭茷俗字也）。

Raft and ship ([竺-二+淠]撥: the first character has the fanqie 敗鞋 [bài + xié -> pái]; the second has the fanqie 煩韈 [fán + wà -> fā]; the *Kaosheng* says: "A *pai* (𥱼) is also a *bo* (撥). Examining this: *pai-bo* refers to bamboo or logs bound together floating on water; another says it is a large raft." The *Gujin zhengzi* says: "*Pai* (𥱼) takes the 'water' radical with *pai* (箄) phonetic; *pai* has the fanqie 必耳 [bì + ěr -> bǐ]. *Bo* (撥) is a large vessel in the ocean; it takes the 'wood' radical with *fa* (發) phonetic." In the sūtra text it is written as 薭茷, which are vulgar characters).
