慙愧（上雜甘反尚書云惟慙德也說文慙亦愧從心斬聲經作慚亦同）。

Cánkuì (慙愧, ashamed and remorseful; the upper [character] has the fanqie [zá + gān]; the Shangshu states: "Only virtue brings shame [when lacking]." The Shuowen states: "Cán (慙) also means ashamed (kuì)"; it takes '心' (heart) with '斬' as phonetic. The sūtra text writes '慚', which is the same).
