甘蔗（下遮夜反考聲云蔗草名也今謂之甘蔗也楚辭亦草名其汁甘也古今正字藷蔗也從草庶聲藷音諸）。

甘蔗 (lower character: *zhe* + *ye* fanqie; the *Kaosheng* says: '蔗 is the name of a plant; nowadays it is called sweet cane (sugarcane).' In the *Chuci* it is also the name of a plant whose juice is sweet. The *Gujin zhengzi* says: '藷蔗; derived from 艸 with 庶 as phonetic.' The pronunciation of 藷 is *zhu*).
