杙殃（上孕即反考聲云橛也說文從木弋聲經文從金作釴鼎耳也非此義也）。

Punishment by impalement on a stake (杙殃) (the upper character is [pronounced] 孕 + 即 [yùn-jí > yì]; the Kaosheng says: "a peg"; the Shuowen jiezi says it takes the "wood" radical [木] and has 弋 for phonetic; the sūtra text writes it with the "metal" radical as 釴, which means the ears of a tripod vessel, not this meaning).
