哀婉（下於遠反杜注左傳婉約也考聲柔順也美皃說文從女宛聲宛音同上）。

Plaintive and graceful [哀婉]: (The lower character is yu-yuan fan [wan]. Du's commentary on the Zuozhuan says: "Wan [婉] means accommodating." The Kaosheng says: "Gentle and compliant; the appearance of beauty." The Shuowen states: "Composed of nü [女] with wan [宛] as phonetic." Wan [宛] is pronounced the same as above).
