呻吟（上音申下岌今反考聲呻吟痛苦聲說文呻亦吟也並從口形聲字）。

呻吟 (The first character has the sound 申 [shēn]; the second has the fanqie 岌今 [yín]. The Kaosheng says: "呻吟 is the sound of groaning in pain." The Shuowen jiezi says: "呻 also means to groan. Both are composed of 口 and are phono-semantic characters").
