稱量（處蒸反考聲定其輕重也廣雅云度也字書云量平也韻英程也說文云銓也從禾爯聲也爯齒蒸反古文作爯經作秤俗字也）。

稱量 (the fanqie 處 + 蒸 [chēng]; the Kaosheng: "To determine lightness and heaviness." The Guangya says: "To measure." Dictionaries say: "To measure equally." The Yunying: "To measure/regulate." The Shuowen says: "To weigh; it takes its semantic classifier from 禾 [grain] and 爯 provides the sound." 爯 is the fanqie 齒 + 蒸 [chēng]; in ancient script it was written as 爯. The sūtra uses the popular character 秤).
