劓鼻（魚忌反占之刑名也鄭注周禮云劓截鼻也孔注尚書云劓割也說文從刀鼻聲也或從臬作㓷亦通也）。

劓鼻 (yìbí; the upper character has the fanqie 魚忌 [yì]; it is the name of an ancient punishment; Zheng's commentary on the Zhouli says that yì means cutting off the nose; Kong's commentary on the Shangshu says that yì means to sever; the Shuowen jiezi says it is composed of 刀 [knife] with 鼻 [bí] giving the sound; it is also written with 臬 as 㓷, which is also accepted).
