排𥎞（上蒲埋反考聲云兵器名所謂盾也說文排字從木從非省聲也或作椑同下悤算反廣雅䂎鋋也傷栴反案戈鋋小矛也考聲遙投矛也古今正字䂎短矛也從矛贊聲也）。

排𥎞 (páizuǎn; the upper character has the fanqie 蒲埋 [pái]; the Kaosheng says it is the name of a weapon, namely a shield; the Shuowen jiezi says that the character 排 is composed of 木 [wood] with an abbreviated 非 [fēi] giving the sound; it is also written as 椑, which is the same; the lower character has the fanqie 悤算 [zuǎn]; the Guangya says that zuǎn means a small javelin, with the fanqie 傷栴 [shān]; on examining this, a gē-javelin is a small spear; the Kaosheng says it is a spear hurled from afar; the Gujin zhengzi says that zuǎn is a short spear, composed of 矛 [spear] with 贊 [zàn] giving the sound).
