中的 (zhòngdì; dì has the fanqie 丁歷 [dì]; the Mao Commentary to the Shijing says that dì is the bullseye of an archery target; the Kaosheng says it means clear in appearance, or fixed; the Shuowen jiezi writes it with 夕 as 的; in the sūtra it is written with 白 as 的, which is a vulgar and incorrect form).
