Nurturing sprouts (毓萌: the first character has the fanqie 融祝 [yù]; the Yupian writes it as 育; Guo Pu's commentary on the Erya says: 'Yù is like to rear.' The Mao Commentary on the Classic of Poetry says: 'Young and tender.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Yù means to rear, to cause to follow the good.' It takes liú [㐬] as radical and has měi [每] as phonetic; liú has the fanqie 陀忽 [tuó]. The second character has the fanqie 麥彭 [méng]).
