彌猴（上彌字錄文從犬作獼俗字也下候鉤反楚辭云彌猴𠔃熊羆說文云彌猴謂猴孫即[木*夒]也猴字從犬侯聲熊音雄羆音悲[木*夒]奴刀反）。

Macaque (for the first character, mi, the text of the catalogue writes it with radical quan [dog] as 獼, which is a popular form; the second character has the fanqie: hou + gou; the Chuci states: "Macaques, bears, and brown bears." The Shuowen jiezi states: "Mihou refers to the housun, namely the [木*夒]." The character hou follows radical quan [dog] with hou providing the sound; xiong is pronounced xiong; pi is pronounced bei; [木*夒] has the fanqie: nu + dao).
