牀榻（上狀㽵反毛詩云載寢之牀身所安也從木爿聲下貪臘反廣雅云榻平也釋名云牀陿而長者謂之榻古今正字從木[日/羽]聲）。

Bed and couch (牀榻: the first character is pronounced *zhuang* + *zhuang* [chuáng]. The *Classic of Poetry* says: 'They sleep upon a bed (牀), where the body finds peace.' Formed from the "wood" radical (木) with *pan* (爿) as the phonetic component. The second character is pronounced *tan* + *la* [tà]. The *Guangya* says: '榻 means level.' The *Shiming* says: 'A bed that is narrow and long is called a 榻.' The *Gujin zhengzi* states: 'Formed from the "wood" radical (木) with [日/羽] as the phonetic component.').
