草隷（禮計反文字典說云秦程邈囚於雲陽獄中改古書字體為僕隷之書說文從隶奈聲篆文作隷草隷者今時草書隷書也）。

草隷 (*li* + *ji* [fanqie]. The *Wenzi dian shuo* says: "Cheng Miao of Qin, while imprisoned in the gaol of Yunyang, reformed the forms of ancient characters to make a script for clerks and bondservants." The *Shuowen* [says]: "Composed of the tail radical 隶 with 奈 as the phonetic; in seal script written as 隷." 草隷 refers to the cursive script and clerical script of present times.)
