歔欷（上許魚反下許衣反王逸注楚辭云歔欷猶悲啼皃也何休注公羊傳云悲也蒼頡篇云泣餘聲也說文云歔欷出氣也二字並從欠虛希皆聲）。

歔欷 (The first is pronounced with the fanqie 許 + 魚; the second with 許 + 衣. Wang Yi's commentary to the Chu ci states: "Xuxi is like the appearance of sobbing and weeping." He Xiu's commentary to the Gongyang zhuan states: "Sorrowful." The Cang Jie pian states: "The lingering sounds of weeping." The Shuowen states: "Xuxi means exhaling breath; both characters are formed from 'yawn/sigh' [欠], with 虛 and 希 serving as phonetics").
