猥承（上烏賄反鄙也頑也下是陵反考聲云承接也毛詩傳曰繼也次也說文作承一體也說文受也從手卩廾）。

猥承 (for the first character, *'[ū] + *[h]uǐ [wěi]; base; rustic; for the second, *sh[ì] + *líng [chéng]; the Kaosheng says: "to succeed, to receive"; the Mao Commentary on the Shi says: "to continue; to come next"; the Shuowen gives it as 承, which is the same form; the Shuowen says: "to receive; it derives from 手, 卩, and 廾").
