耆艾（上佶伊反韓詩云耆大也爾雅耆長也禮記六十曰耆說文老也從老旨聲下五葢反禮記五十曰𦫿爾雅𦫿養也方言齊魯之間凡尊老謂之𦫿說文氷臺也從草又聲佶音巨乙反）。

Elderly (the upper character is pronounced with the fanqie 佶伊 [k- + -i = ki]. The Han Shi says: "耆 means great." The Erya says: "耆 means elder." The Liji says: "One who is sixty is called 耆." The Shuowen jiezi says: "Aged; composed of 老 with 旨 as phonetic." The lower character is pronounced with the fanqie 五葢 [ng- + -ai = ngai]. The Liji says: "One who is fifty is called 𦫿." The Erya says: "𦫿 means to nourish." The Fangyan says: "Between Qi and Lu, whenever an elder is honoured, they are called 𦫿." The Shuowen jiezi says: "Mugwort (artemisia); composed of 艸 with 艾 as phonetic." 佶 is pronounced 巨乙 [g- + -it = git]).
