縆鎖 [thick ropes and locks] (The first character is pronounced with the fanqie 亘恒 [geng]. The Shuowen says: '縆 means a cord or thick rope.' It takes the silk radical 糸 and the phonetic 恒. The transmission text writes it with 亘 as 絙, pronounced with the fanqie 胡官 [huan], which is not the meaning intended by the text. The second character is pronounced with the fanqie 蘇果 [suo]. The Zishu says: '鎻 means linked rings.' The Shuowen says: 'It takes the metal radical 金 and the phonetic 𧴪.' The transmission text writes it with 巢 as 鏁, which is a popular variant).
