堆堞 [mounded battlements] (The first character is pronounced with the fanqie 都回 [dui]. Wang's commentary on the Chuci says: '堆 means high.' The Shuowen says: 'It takes the earth radical 土 and the phonetic 隹.' The second character is pronounced with the fanqie 殆頰 [die]. Du's commentary on the Zuozhuan says: 'A 堞 is a parapet wall.' The Shuowen says: 'It takes the earth radical 土 and the phonetic 枼').
