浚壑（荀俊反廣雅浚溢也郭注爾雅浚上所以深之也說文從水夋聲下火各反顧野王壑猶谿谷也古今正字壑亦溝也）。

Deep ravine (浚壑, the first character is pronounced with the fanqie initial [荀] and final [俊]; the Guangya says: '浚 means to overflow'; Guo Pu's commentary on the Erya says: '浚 is the means by which the depth is deepened'; the Shuowen jiezi says: 'It takes the radical 水 and the phonetic 夋'; the second character is pronounced with the fanqie initial [火] and final [各]; Gu Yewang says: '壑 is like a mountain gorge'; the Gujin zhengzi says: '壑 also means a ditch').
