莫賀延磧（清歷反在姑臧西千里絕人境無水草唯砂名之為磧從石責聲）。

莫賀延磧 (Moheyan Desert: qing1 [clear] + li4 [to pass] fanqie. It lies a thousand li west of Guzang; human habitation is cut off, lacking water and grass, consisting entirely of sand, hence called qi4 (磧, stony desert). It takes 石 as radical and ze2 as phonetic).
