閹人（掩炎反鄭註周禮云閹精氣閉藏者說文閹竪宮中閹昏閉門者也從門奄聲）。
閹人 (eunuch: yan3 [to cover] + yan2 [flame] fanqie. Zheng's commentary on the Zhouli states: 'Yan (閹) refers to one whose seminal essence is locked away.' The Shuowen jiezi states: 'Castrated servants in the palace who close the doors at dusk.' It takes 門 as radical and yan3 as phonetic).
