Burn and pillage (掠, fanqie: 力約): Du's commentary on the Zuozhuan says, '掠 refers to plundering goods and wealth.' Gu Yewang says, '掠 refers to capturing and taking goods and wealth.' The Shuowen jiezi says it is formed from 手 with 京 as phonetic. 虜 has the sound 魯).
