Pungent roots [辛葷] (虛 plus 云 fanqie. Zheng [Xuan]'s commentary on the *Liji* states: "葷 are pungent vegetables." The *Shenglei* states: "Wild garlic is also called 葷." The *Shuowen* has it with 'grass' [艸] and 軍 phonetic).
