薦席（煎電反如淳注漢書云草稠曰薦釋名云牀薦所以自薦籍也廣雅云薦席也說文從草廌聲廌音豸論文草竹作簫非也）。

Straw mat [薦席] (煎 plus 電 fanqie. Ru Chun's commentary on the *Hanshu* states: "Thick grass is called 薦." The *Shiming* states: "A bed mat [牀薦] is that which serves as a pad under oneself." The *Guangya* states: "薦 means a mat." The *Shuowen* has it with 'grass' [艸] and 廌 phonetic; 廌 is pronounced 豸. In the treatise, writing 'grass' and 'bamboo' as 簫 is incorrect).
