歃白馬（上所甲反賈注國語云歃血也玉篇云以口微吸之也說文從欠臿聲臿音叉甲反從干從臼論文從口從妾作唼者非此用也）。

歃白馬 (The first character has the fanqie [suo + jia] 所甲. Jia's commentary to the Guoyu states: "歃 means to drink blood [in an alliance covenant]." The Yupian states: "To sip slightly with the mouth." The Shuowen states: "It takes its component from 欠 [yawn/breath] and ‹臿› as its phonetic." 臿 has the fanqie [cha + jia] 叉甲, composed of 干 and 臼. In the treatise it is written with 口 and 妾 as 唼, which is not suitable for this usage.)
