謇謇（居展反王逸注楚辭云謇謇威儀貌也考聲云謇謇詞無避也古今正字亦北方通語也從言謇省聲也）。

謇謇 (ju + zhan [jiǎn]. Wang Yi's commentary to the Songs of Chu says: "謇謇 is an appearance of dignified bearing." The Kaosheng says: "謇謇 means speaking without evasion." The Gujin zhengzi says: "It is also common vernacular speech of the north; it derives from 言 [speech] with an abbreviated 謇 as phonetic.")
