負笈（下其輒反考聲云笈盛書篋也漢書云負笈隨師是負書也埤蒼云笈編竹為箱也古今正字從竹及聲篋音謙葉反）。

Bearing a book-chest 負笈 (the second character is pronounced with the fanqie 其 + 輒; the Kaosheng says: "A ji is a chest for holding books." The Book of Han says: "Bearing a book-chest and following a master" means carrying books. The Picang says: "A ji is a case made of woven bamboo." The Gujin zhengzi states that it takes the bamboo radical 竹 and the phonetic 及; 篋 is pronounced with the fanqie 謙 + 葉).
