Approaching the lion 臨猊 (the second character is pronounced with the fanqie 諸 + 鷄; the Tale of King Mu says: "The suanni is of the lion kind." The Gujin zhengzi states that it takes the dog radical 犬 and the phonetic 兒; it is also written with the deer radical 鹿 as 麑 or written as 貌 with the same pronunciation).
