蘪蕪（上美悲反下音無玉篇云蘪蕪香草也本草云蘪蕪芎藭苗也說文云蘪蕪二字並從草麋無皆聲也）。

Ligusticum 蘪蕪 (the first character is pronounced with the fanqie 美 + 悲; the second character is pronounced 無; the Yupian says: "Miwu is an aromatic plant." The Pharmacopoeia (Bencao) says: "Miwu is the shoot of Ligusticum sinense (xionggqiong)." The Shuowen jiezi states that both characters mi and wu take the grass radical 艸, with 麋 and 無 respectively serving as phonetics).
