Emaciation and illness 瘠病 (the first character is pronounced with the fanqie 情 + 亦; Kong [Anguo's] commentary on the Book of Documents says: "Ji means illness." The Gongyang zhuan says: "What is a great emaciation (瘠)?" He [Xiu's] commentary says: "Great dysentery (痢, pronounced 厲)." The Shenglei says: "A chronic ailment."
