璽書（上斯子反考聲云璽天子印也漢書云封皇帝符璽應劭注云璽信也籀文從玉作璽說文云王者印也從玉爾聲字從二糸作璽俗字也糸音覓論）。

Imperial rescript (璽書; the first character is pronounced with the fanqie 斯子. The Kaosheng says: "璽 is the seal of the Son of Heaven." The Hanshu says: "Sealing the tallies and seals of the August Emperor." Ying Shao's commentary says: "The seal is a token of trust." In large seal script it takes the radical 玉, written as 璽. The Shuowen says: "The seal of a ruler; it takes the radical 玉 with 爾 as phonetic." The character written with two 糸 as 璽 is a vulgar character; 糸 is sounded 覓 in the Lun).
