巾褐（寒遏反考聲云褐麤衣名鄭箋毛詩云褐毛布也南楚之人謂袍為短褐說文麤衣也從衣曷聲麤古文麤字從三鹿）。

巾褐 (han + e [hè]. The Kaosheng says: "褐 is the name of coarse clothing." Zheng's supplementary commentary to Mao's Poetry says: "褐 is cloth made of coarse hair/wool. The people of Southern Chu call a robe 'short coarse garment' (duǎnhè)." The Shuowen says: "Coarse clothing; it derives from 衣 [garment] with 曷 as phonetic." 麤 is the ancient character for coarse, deriving from three 鹿 [deer].)
