史𠕋（楚革反蔡邕獨斷云𠕋簡也鄭注周禮簡𠕋謂書王命以鎮國𠕋字象形也古文三長二短中有二編論作策俗字也）。

Historical records (史𠕋: [the second character is] *chu-ge* [ch- + -è = chè] in fanqie; Cai Yong’s Duduan says: “𠕋 means bamboo slips.” Zheng’s commentary on the Rites of Zhou says: “The bamboo records (簡𠕋) refer to writing down the king’s decrees to safeguard the state.” The character 𠕋 is pictographic, showing three long and two short slips bound together twice in the middle. In the treatise it is written as 策, which is a vulgar character).
