瞿然（上具遇反顧野王云驚懼之貌也毛詩傳云無守之貌也說文從隹䀠聲正從二目作䀠云左右視也今傳作懼誤也）。

Startled and vigilant (瞿然: first character fanqie 具遇; Gu Yewang says: "The appearance of being startled and fearful." The commentary to the Mao Classic of Poetry says: "The appearance of having no steadiness." The Shuowen says it is formed from 隹 with 䀠 phonetic; correctly written with two eyes as 䀠, meaning looking left and right. The current transmission erroneously writes it as 懼 [fear]).
