霓裳（上鷁奚反王逸注楚辭云霓雲之有色似龍者郭注爾雅云霓雌虹也亦於裳上畫雜色閒錯或青或赤日暈似虹霓也說文屈虹陰氣從雨兒聲）。

Rainbow skirts (霓裳) (the first character is pronounced yi-xi fan; Wang Yi's commentary on the Chuci says: "Ni refers to clouds with colors resembling dragons." Guo [Pu]'s commentary on the Erya says: "Ni is a female rainbow." They also paint varied intermingling colors, green or red, on the skirts; the halo of the sun resembles a rainbow. The Shuowen says: "A curved rainbow; yin qi; it follows the rain radical [雨] with er [兒] phonetic").
