迺眷(上音乃鄭注儀禮云迺猶而也顧野王云往也說文從西乚聲乚者古文乃字也論從辵作迺俗用字非也下居媛反孔注尚書云眷視也毛詩傳顧野說文義同從目卷省聲論作睠俗字)。

Looking with favor (迺眷) (the first character is pronounced like nai [乃]; Zheng [Xuan]'s commentary on the Yili says: "Nai is like 'and then'." Gu Yewang says: "To go." The Shuowen gives it as following xi [西] with yin [乚] phonetic; yin is an ancient form of the character nai [乃]; the treatise writes it with the movement radical [辵] as 迺, which is a vulgar and incorrect form. The second character is pronounced ju-yuan fan; Kong [Anguo]'s commentary on the Shangshu says: "Juan means to look." The Mao Commentary on the Shijing, Gu [Yewang], and the Shuowen share the same meaning; it follows the eye radical [目] with an abbreviated juan [卷] phonetic. The treatise writes it as 睠, a vulgar character).
