璽誥（思紫反鄭注周禮云璽印也賈注國語封書也應劭注漢書信也說文從玉爾聲下高号反爾雅誥謹也古王者号今以謹勅也）。

璽誥 [xǐgào] (The first character has the fanqie si + zi. Zheng's commentary on the Zhouli states: 'A xǐ is a seal.' Jia's commentary on the Guoyu says: 'Used to seal documents.' Ying Shao's commentary on the Hanshu says: 'A pledge of trust.' The Shuowen says: 'It has the radical 玉 (jade) and er as phonetic.' The second character has the fanqie gao + hao. The Erya says: 'Gào means to enjoin with care. In ancient times, a king issued an appellation [hào]; nowadays it means to enjoin with careful admonition').
