八紘（獲萠反許注淮南子云八紘謂之八方說文從糸厷聲）。

八紘 [bāhóng] (The second character has the fanqie huo + meng. Xu's commentary on the Huainanzi says: 'The eight cords [bāhóng] refer to the eight directions.' The Shuowen says: 'It has the radical 糸 (silk) and hong as phonetic').
