淵壑（烏玄反說文淵水深也從水𣶒聲廟諱呼取泉音下呵各反山海經云壑谿也爾雅云虛也說文云溝也從[(├/(同-(一/口)+、))*又]從谷集文從土作[((├/(同-(一/口)+、))*又)/土]亦通也）。

淵壑 [yuānhè] (The fanqie of the first character is wu + xuan. The Shuowen says: 'A deep body of water. It has the radical 水 (water) and yuan as phonetic.' On account of imperial taboo, the sound of quán [spring] is used instead. The second character has the fanqie he + ge. The Shanhaijing says: 'Hè means a ravine.' The Erya says: 'An emptiness.' The Shuowen says: 'A ditch. It has the radicals 𡽊 and 谷 [valley].' The Jiwen writing it with the radical 土 as [((├/(同-(一/口)+、))*又)/土] is also acceptable).
