悚慴（上粟勇反杜注左傳云悚懼也說文正作𢥠從心雙聲字書或作𢥠傳作悚今俗通用字下恬頰反爾雅云慴懼也郭璞云懾也說文從心習聲）。

悚慴 (The upper character is pronounced 粟 + 勇 fanqie. Du's commentary to the *Zuo zhuan* says: "悚 means fearful." The *Shuowen* states the standard form is written 𢥠, taking the heart classifier [心] and being an alliterative compound; character lexicons sometimes write it 𢥠, while the biography writes it 悚, which is the current common character. The lower character is pronounced 恬 + 頰 fanqie. The *Erya* says: "慴 means fearful." Guo Pu says: "懾." The *Shuowen* states it takes the heart classifier [心] and is phonetic in 習).
